Day 1 Norway

Or at least the journey to.

We left Wells at 7:00 a.m. heading for Dover, it was a lovely drive across Salisbury Plain on the A303. We arrived in Dover with about an hour and a half to spare however Customs seem to be going super slow, and we only arrived at check-in 20 minutes before departure. The French customers person took our passport scan and stamped them, and that was it. The British person in the next little cabin had a great chat with us, asking us where we were headed.

The ship was lovely and new, although it was full of school children heading to the continent. including one of Katie’s friends who she used to run with leading a trip from one of the schools in Worcestershire.

When we landed, we drove round to Dunkirk to have a look at the beaches and a short stroll having been cooped up in the van and then the boat for the best part of the day. We drove up to just outside Nijmegen. We stopped at a small car park which had a large sign showing motorhome parking if only every town and village had one in the UK. There was a lovely little park nearby, and we had a good stroll and found a Boardwalk over the pond.
