Exploring the old town of Stavanger.
A relatively lazy start, we caught the bus into the old part of Stavanger it is famous for its sardines and canning to preserve them.

The old cobbled roads wind upwards from the docks. All the old houses are made from wood and normally painted white. Some houses had really gone to town on the flowers.

In Norway, it is good luck to have a troll. Can you spot the one below.

After our stroll through Stavanger, we went to a coffee shop and had a lovely pastry two large cinnamon buns.
One of the Stavanger’s other large industries is oil, and there is a playground by the oil Museum made out of old parts from rigs. Drills and pipes made interesting things to climb over.

It was then time to walk home. Our friends took the bus, but it was a lovely day, and we felt it worth a leg stretch. On the way back, we found an outdoor swimming pool and an old steam roller.

Back in time for homemade pizza and another convivial evening.
